And next, Snape was kneeling in Sirius's old bedroom. Tears were dripping frm the end of his hooked nose as he read the old letter from Lily. The second page carried only a few words:
could never have been friends with Gellert Grindelwald. I think her mind's going, personally!
Lots of Love,
Lily
Snape took the page bearing Lily's signature, and her love, and tucked it inside his robes. Then he ripped in two the photograph he was also holding, so that he kept the part from which Lily laughed, throwing the portion showing James and Harry back onto the floor, under the chest of drawers..

Gah. Took so long for me to finish..been working on this on and off, and here we go. What was originally going to be a happy picture turned out to be quite sad..but I like it. The image of Snape looking over an old picture, showing a much less guarded, weaker side of himself that we haven't been able to see in the rest of the series really caught me. Especially seeing how emotional he got upon seeing the face of his best friend. :[ Anyway.. hope you like it.
Time: 16 hrs or so..??

*OMG* Harry's face!!! I'm going to be snape-ishly mean and say that it didn't improve very much over the years... *nyarharharhar*
Great picture for a very touching scene!
D: Aw, the Christmas Tree! (Which is currently in the corner, bleeding sap, and screeching "Crawling in my Bark" *gets shot*)
.. Okay, so it kinda pwned with the whole pencil thing. And it pwns more with color. And. Yeah. Christ you improved like woah. This is possibly the best coloring job I've seen yet, along with expression of characters. Also liking the details; the wood and grain, and James' ring. Harry still makes me crack up. He's still the favorite part of the picture for me (yeah, forget Lily, Harry owned this one). His teeth. And expression. He's so adorable and cute. But it's still so sad and depressing at the same time. Not the Snape factor, the whole 'what might have been' factor. Damnit. You really caught it, the whole moment.
.. sorry, no sleep for 24+ hours. But you understand my babbling, or the essence of it anyway. "Wow, oh snap, kickass, wanna cry"

Madam: " But surely, the arm of this woman is too long."
Matisse: " Madame, you are mistaken. This is not a woman, this is a picture."
